Kathy has been teaching for Yogawerks almost 3 years, and has been a student of Yogawerks, under the direction and teachings of Affiliated Anusara Teacher Chad Satlow for 4-1/2 years. Kathy fell into the path of yoga having studied and done hours of private lessons with Chad to promote her own healing from back surgeries. She fell in love with yoga and pursued her own teaching path. Trained by Chad, (she completed her 200-hour level Teacher Training at Yogawerks in 2003) she also studies with Anusara founder, John Friend. Now Anusara Inspired, after having completed Level 1 and 2 Teacher Training, several Therapeutic Trainings with John, as well as multiple hours in Anusara studies. When she is not doing yoga, she is graphic guru for Yogawerks as well as other corporate clients.
Kathy has completed three 30-hour yoga therapeutic teacher trainings with teacher and Anusara Yoga founder John Friend (in California, Texas and Tuscon). The training focused on The Universal Principles of Alignment and finding the "optimal blueprint" for the body's optimal alignment an health. Using these principles, the connective tissue becomes stronger, more resiliant, and increases in flexibility. Last year she assisted, then co-taught a yoga therapeutics class at Yogawerks with owner Chad Satlow.

Kathy will be featured in Prevention magazine’s September issue, “Alternative Medicine Saved Our Lives” and will be encouraging readers to discuss the article in their online discussion forums. Kathy has had three back surgeries, including a spinal fusion with harrington rods. Now she uses her yoga practice to stay healthy and avoid further surgeries.
