dragonfly A therapeutic session is perfect for those recovering from surgery, or for those with chronic physial limitations. I will draw upon and reference the teachings of teacher John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga, using the Universal Principles of Alignment. This system uses a full range of movement and addresses a multitude of injuries and limitations including: shoulders, back and neck, hamstrings, hips and pelvis, feet.

Rather than a "dis-connect" from the body, you will re-connect, working through your limitations and move toward ultimate freedom in the body. The most motivated student is one who wants freedom from pain. A positive mental attitude is key towards transformation and healing. Visualize yourself as you would like to be 3-5 years from now. This combined with a steady dedication to practice will ensure a dramatic transformation.

During the first session, you will spend a few minutes filling out a form addressing any physical limitations, past surgeries and your current physical state, as well as your current exercise program, work and sleep habits, etc. Wear comfortable stretchy clothing to the session. Shorts or yoga pants and a t-shirt or sports bra are fine. I will evaluate your standing and seated posture and give verbal and physical adjustments and teach you how to bring your body back into proper alignment. Repeat privates will be suggested as needed. You will be given a listed out summary of key points we worked on, and a simple routine you can begin to do at home.
